Police investigate stabbing of Jewish man in east London, The attacker, a man in his forties said to be of Asian descent

A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after an Orthodox Jewish man was stabbed in an east London street.

The incident took place at around 11am on Stoke Newington high street as the victim, who is in his 50s, left a bank.

The knifeman, who was held down in the street by members of the public until the police arrived, was also taken to hospital suffering from minor head injuries.
