Stelter Says CNN Will “Live Fact Check” RNC; Critics Ask Why It Didn’t Do The Same For DNC
Stelter declared that because there will likely be a “stream of disinformation” at the RNC this week, CNN will “cut away” from the event as and when it needs to correct GOP claims.
Stelter also hilariously slammed other networks for being biased.
“There is an asymmetry in our media…where Fox is off there on the right in ways that other networks are not, in the middle or on the left,” Stelter said, further claiming that “one side” lies “a whole lot more than the other.”

CBS: “We cannot deny the fact that fat-phobia is rooted in anti-Blackness”
“We cannot deny the fact that fat-phobia is rooted in anti-Blackness. That’s simply an historical reality,”
“Therefore, they decided to re-articulate racial categories, adding new characteristics, and one of the things that the colonists believed was that Black people were inherently more sensuous, that people love sex and they love food, and so the idea was that Black people had more venereal diseases, and that Black people were inherently obese, because they lack self-control. And of course, self-control and rationality, after the Enlightenment, were characteristics that were deemed integral to Whiteness.”
“they” – as if white people have a central authority that decides these things.
sociologist Max Weber in 1904-1905, describes the concept of hard work and self-discipline as highly valued traits that would lead to eternal salvation. The “mortification of the flesh,” or the act of putting sins related to the body to death by abstaining from certain pleasures, is a concept common to all Christian denominations, reflected in practices like fasting or abstinence. Strings says that many of these ideas were taken up by Anglo-Saxon Protestants in the U.S. in the 19th century.
“What they wanted to do was show that they were both morally upright and racially proper, in the way in which they ate and how they maintained their figures,” said Strings. “And so, they were very clear that to be of the elite race and to be a Christian peoples means that you need to show what they would call temperance in the face of food — or restraint is the way we might think of today — because if you did not show temperance, that was evidence that you were one of the savages, and also, that you were un-Christian.”
Black fragility at its finest. Whites deciding to do something totally unrelated and having nothing to do with blacks – is somehow oppressive and racist towards blacks because this person has major self-esteem and image issues.
DeSantis Florida vs. Cuomo New York – Left wing vs. Right wing government = New York has 1694 deaths per million residents, Florida has 481. Even though they have an older population
Consider this most basic stat: deaths per a million residents:
Florida 481
New York 1684
Florida has roughly 25% of the overall deaths of New York despite having an older population than New York. Meaning not just has Florida done nearly 4x as good of a job protecting its residents lives as New York, it’s done that despite having a more vulnerable age population.
If New York had the same rate of death of Florida the state of New York would have around 9,000 deaths instead of 32,000 deaths, meaning 23,000 people who are currently dead in New York would still be alive.
Far from doing a good job, Governor Andrew Cuomo of New York may well have done the worst job in the entire world. Indeed, the only competitor with him is New Jersey governor Phil Murphy.
Look at the death rates per million in New York and New Jersey compared to the worst death rates in the entire rest of the world:
1. New Jersey 1807
2. New York 1694
3. Belgium 861
4. Peru 831
5. Spain 617
6. England 610
7. Italy 586
8. Sweden 575
9. Chile 564
10. United States 544
So New York and New Jersey were three times as bad as the average in the United States. (Indeed, they are the primary reasons why the United States death rate is so high.)
Look at the current unemployment rates in the four largest states as well:
Texas is 8%
Florida is 11.1%
California is 13.3%
New York is 15.9%
So New York had the most deaths from the coronavirus in the nation and has the second worst unemployment rate in the entire nation, by far the worst of our four biggest states. (Massachusetts has the worst unemployment rate in the nation at 16.1%).
If data mattered, Ron DeSantis would be one of our nation’s heroes and Andrew Cuomo would be a national pariah. Instead, it’s the exact opposite.

It’s soft bigotry to lower standards for minority kids
The soft bigotry of low expectations, and the idea that being kind and working hard is racist
The so-called “anti-racist” movement is inspiring a wave of ignorance and soft bigotry in American schools. I fear that Britain will be next.
Uncommon Schools – the world-renowned charter schools whose managing director, Doug Lemov, released the much celebrated Teach Like a Champion book – announced a sudden and complete change of direction this week in order to become “an increasingly anti-racist organisation” that promotes “social justice”.
What does this look like in practice? They will no longer enforce a policy encouraging pupils to listen in class; ties will no longer be a uniform requirement; pupils will be able to wear trainers instead of shoes; detentions will no longer be given out for “minor infractions”; all staff will be trained in unconscious bias; and teachers will be asked to “manage their own emotions in conflict situations”.
No doubt these changes are well-intentioned, but they also reinforce the prejudice of low expectations. The idea that black and minority ethnic students can’t be expected to listen to the teacher or to dress smartly is insulting enough, but to suggest that black people cannot be expected to behave and therefore shouldn’t be given detentions is outrageous.
This lunacy is already spreading across the Atlantic. Just this week, a lecturer in education from Brunel University London published a series of tweets berating Teach Like a Champion, claiming that for teachers to correct their pupils’ grammar is punitive, discriminatory and oppressive.

CBC Bias/Propaganda: 500% more CBC headlines about Kamala Harris than Leslyn Lewis
Canada’s state broadcaster has given far more coverage to American Democrat vice-presidential nominee Kamala Harris than it has to Conservative leadership candidate Leslyn Lewis, a True North review reveals.
Data show Harris netted 500% as many headlines from CBC mentioning her name than Lewis did since the Conservative leadership race commenced on January 13, 2020, with some going so far as to laud Harris’ for “making history” as a woman of colour.
As of August 17, CBC had published 45 different headlines referencing Harris, while only nine for Lewis.
To achieve this count, True North tallied search results from CBC’s website. The final results include all English language media content published by the national broadcaster, including from CBC News, CBC Radio and other affiliates.
Lewis and Harris have both made history as the first black females to run for their respective positions.

A judge ordered a do-over election held in November for a city council seat in Paterson, New Jersey, due to the apparent winner and a sitting councilman (both Democrats) being charged with voter fraud.
“It was the right ruling. That past election was fraught with fraud,” Mayor Andre Sayegh remarked, according to CNN.
“The City will comply with the judge’s decision and we created the Mayor’s Election Awareness Team to preserve the value of the vote in Paterson,” he noted.
The AP article continued:
Alex Mendez had won a special election on May 12 to fill the seat, but claims of voter fraud were soon raised. An investigation was then launched after the U.S. Postal Service’s law enforcement arm told the state attorney general’s office about hundreds of mail-in ballots located in a mailbox in Paterson, along with more found in nearby Haledon.
In June, Breitbart News reported that election fraud charges were announced against Paterson City Councilman Michael Jackson (D), Councilman-elect Alex Mendez (D), Shelim Khalique, and Abu Razyen:
Mendez, 45-years-old, has been charged with second-degree election fraud, third-degree fraud in casting mail-in votes, third-degree unauthorized possession of ballots, third-degree false registration or transfer, third-degree tampering with public records, and fourth-degree falsifying or tampering with records.

Convicted Rapist, Torturer and Killer Who Squeezed Her Victim’s Testicles with Pliers Speaks at DNC as “Impactful Community Leader” – after already speaking at the women’s march
The DNC this week welcomed convicted rapist, torturer and killer Donna Hylton to speak to their supporters. Democrats introduced Hylton as an “impactful community leaders.”
The Women’s March also featured Donna Hylton, a convicted felon who spent decades in prison along with a few others for kidnapping, raping, and torturing a 62-year-old man before eventually killing him.
Hylton, along with three men and three other women, kidnapped 62-year-old real-estate broker Thomas Vigliarolo and held him for ransom, before eventually killing him. As noted in a 1995 Psychology Today article, when asked about forcibly sodomizing the victim with a three foot steel pole, Hylton replied: “He was a homo anyway.”

Susan B. Anthony memorial refuses to accept Trump’s pardon of civil rights leader
A group honoring the life and legacy of American civil rights icon Susan B. Anthony has refused to accept President Trump’s posthumous pardon of her, arguing the effort would give unearned legitimacy to the 1873 court proceedings that found her guilty of breaking a law that prohibited women from voting.
Trump this week announced he was pardoning Anthony for the conviction, a measure the president took on the 100th anniversary of the ratification of the 19th Amendment to the Constitution, which recognized the right of women to vote.
Yet the National Susan B. Anthony Museum & House this week rejected the president’s gesture, telling the president in a press release that the memorial organization “must decline [his] offer of a pardon.”

Insider at PR Giant Publicis Groupe Reveals Far-left Anti White Racism Spreading Through Woke Capitalism
An insider at Publicis Groupe, one of the world’s biggest advertising and PR companies, exclusively shared screenshots from a “diversity” training day in which employees received instructions by proponents of radical politics of race, which included the corporate wokeness indoctrination such as the idea that the slogan “Make America Great Again” is a form of “covert white supremacy.”
employees are taught that not to consider people’s skin color in their day-to-day interactions is a form of “white privilege” or even “white supremacy.”
In other messages, employees discussed cutting off clients that don’t meet the demands of far-left politics.
Another presentation instructs employees to read the works of left-wing race radicals, including Robin DiAngelo’s White Fragility — which is fast becoming a staple of corporate “diversity” reading lists — and the New York Times‘ 1619 project, which has been widely criticized by historians and helped inspire the vandalizing of a George Washington statue in Portland, Oregon.
Another slide educates employees on “social dominance theory” and the “oppression matrix,” which ranks you based on the color of your skin, your gender, class, sexual orientation, religion, and other categories. Whites, males, and “gender conforming men and women” are among the groups described as “privileged.”
NASA hosts anti-white speakers at conference that attacked white people, and suggested it was inherently evil to identify as a white person.
“If you are non-white, and you come across a white person, and they act like they don’t know what’s going on, they are deceiving you, and they are trying to disarm you,” Richardson said. “Every white person over the age of 12 knows that they are white, and they know that racism exists…If they say ‘I’m white,’ they automatically know all the implications of what that means.”
At another point in his rant, Richardson said that the only reason any person identifies as white in the first place is to “practice racism.”
“For a human being to think that they are white…they are letting you know that they plan on being racist, and they plan on practicing white supremacy,” he said.
Just like countless other American institutions, NASA is a shell of what it once was. It wears its achievements from the 1960s and 70s as a skin suit, to mask a present-day obsession with diversity and social justice. As John Stossel points, out, Elon Musk did in six years what NASA said they could do in twelve, and he did it at less than four percent of the cost.

Five hundred more Defence Force staff are being deployed to managed isolation facilities to roll out the testing of staff quicker.
The Government is also directly hiring security guards to help control the facilities, which will make them less reliant on private security guards.
It comes as officials report six new cases of Covid-19 today, one of which is in managed isolation.
The other five cases are in the community, all linked to the South Auckland cluster, while 23,038 tests were processed yesterday.

Prime Minister Scott Morrison says a free COVID-19 vaccine will be mandatory for every Australian once it’s available
Prime Minister Scott Morrison says he intends to make a COVID-19 vaccine “as mandatory as possible” for all Australians once it becomes available.
News.com.au revealed today that the Morrison Government has confirmed a landmark agreement with drug giant AstraZeneca to manufacture one of the world’s most promising coronavirus vaccines currently being developed by Oxford University researchers.
If it’s proved safe to use, Prime Minister Scott Morrison believes the agreement will ensure Australians will be among the first countries in the world to secure the jab, revealing this morning it could be available to Aussies as soon as early next year.
The UK Government has already ordered 100 million doses.
Asked whether the vaccine would be mandatory, Mr Morrison told 3AW’s Neil Mitchell that it needed to get to about 95 per cent of the population.
“I would expect it to be as mandatory as you can possibly make it,” the PM said.
“There are always exemptions for any vaccine on medical grounds but that should be the only basis.
“I mean we’re talking about a pandemic that has destroyed you know, the global economy and taken the lives of hundreds of thousands all around the world and over 450 Australians here.
“We need the most extensive and comprehensive response to this to get Australia back to normal.”

Race baiting CNN: Black newborns 3 times more likely to die when looked after by White doctors
Black newborn babies in the United States are more likely to survive childbirth if they are cared for by Black doctors, but three times more likely to die when looked after by White doctors, a study has found.
The mortality rate of Black newborns shrunk by between 39% and 58% when Black physicians took charge of the birth, according to the research, which laid bare how shocking racial disparities in human health can affect even the first hours of a person’s life.By contrast, the mortality rate for White babies was largely unaffected by the doctor’s race. The findings support previous research, which has shown that, while infant mortality rates have fallen in recent decades, Black children remain significantly more likely to die early than their White counterparts.
survival rate is 99.71% for white babies with white doctors, 99.11% for Black babies w white doctors, and 99.37% or so for BB with BD.https://t.co/4ngSdEdufR
Black privilege: Black teens sucker punch and kill a white man, spit on him, one gets probation second teen gets a second-degree assault charge dropped
The second of two teen brothers charged after a man died at the Great Frederick Fair last year was placed on probation Wednesday and ordered to complete an anger management program, among other commitments.
The older of the brothers, who was 16 years old at the time of the Sept. 20 assault, was initially charged with two counts of second-degree assault related to the attack that killed 59-year-old Mount Airy resident John Marvin Weed.
Of those charges, one count was for the teen reportedly spitting on Weed after he had fallen to the ground, which was the charge the teen pleaded guilty to July 8 during a hearing in Frederick County Circuit Court. The second assault charge was dropped per a plea agreement reached between prosecutors and Stacey Steinmetz, an attorney representing the teen.
Systemic racism is a nightmare for plant and animal diversity too, says major study
Researchers from the University of Washington looked at 170 studies to analyze how systemic racism impacts surrounding ecology. In a word: catastrophically. They found that poor, urban communities of color are also low on biodiversity, while high on rodents, disease-carrying pests, and temperature. The latter is known as the “heat island” effect, where areas with less natural water and greenery have higher temperatures, which in turn fuels the negative effects of climate change.
The paper is largely a call to scientists for adoption of racial equality as a cornerstone of environmental health:Redlining and other discriminatory housing practices lead to neighborhoods with fewer trees, plants, and animals, often near dumping or industrial sites, which leads to more pollution, and a downward ecological spiral ensues.
Blacks live in poor democrat controlled neighborhoods, democrats run their cities to the ground, more poor people move to subsidized housing, don’t look after the area. Area suffers. It is the white people’s fault.
Majority white counties have significantly fewer COVID-19 cases: Study
It’s not about luck or genetics, experts said. It’s structural racism.
U.S. counties predominantly composed of white people have reported the fewest coronavirus cases, while diverse counties have been hit disproportionately harder by COVID-19, new research shows.
Researchers analyzed publicly available U.S. Census data and found that while 22% of counties have a predominantly Black population, those counties accounted for 47% of COVID-19 cases and 54% of deaths as of June. That racial disparity held true regardless of geographic region or political affiliation and was the same both before and after reopening the U.S. economy.
Counties that were more than 93% white reported the lowest rate of COVID-19 infections, at just 188 per 100,000 residents, compared with 914 per 100,000 residents in counties that were less than 60% white.
Seattle BLM protesters demand white people ‘give up’ their homes
Do you know that before your white ass came here, this was all black people?” the man says. “Do you know people like you came in here and basically bought all the land from the black people for less than what it was worth, kicked them out so you could live here? Do you know that?”
The man continues: “’Cause if you don’t, now you f–king do — now do something about it!”
Another woman in the crowd then urges the residents to “open their wallet” as the man continues to yell at the unidentified residents off-camera.
“So how do you plan to fix it?” the man continues. “As a gentrifier, because you are part of that problem.”
A woman with a megaphone then urges the residents to “give up” their house, the footage shows.
“Give black people back their homes!” she yells. “You’re sitting there comfortably — comfortable as f—k as if they didn’t help gentrify this neighborhood! I used to live in this neighborhood, and my family was pushed out, and you’re sitting up there having a good time with your other white friends!”
Australia adding legislation allowing the removal of children by force in regards to covid 19 coronavirus
COVID-19 Emergency Response (Further Measures) Amendment Bill 2020
25A—Removal of children (1) Without derogating from section 25, an authorised officer may, for the purpose of ensuring compliance with any direction under that section, remove a child from any premises, place, vehicle or vessel to a place of residence of the child or to a hospital or quarantine facility, as the authorised officer thinks fit (and may, in doing so, use such force as is reasonably necessary).
Ireland Muslim child rape grooming gangs of white girls. 44 victims. 56 rapists, all were asylum seekers from the Kurdish, Afghani, Egyptian, Moroccan, Turkish, Pakistani or Iraqi communities.
COPS took down a huge asylum seeker grooming gang in Glasgow – but kept it secret.
The gang preyed on vulnerable young girls in the city, and had at least 44 victims, including a core group of six youngsters who were all known to each other.
All were asylum seekers from the Kurdish, Afghani, Egyptian, Moroccan, Turkish, Pakistani or Iraqi communities.
Operation Cerrar was kept under wraps by Police Scotland, and has now come to light after an investigation by the Daily Express.
Cops say 19 members were reported to the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal, but its unknown how many were convicted.
The horrifying extent of the gang’s activities was laid bare in a National Child Abuse Investigation Unit report by Detective Inspector Sarah Taylor.
22 of the suspects were still living in Glasgow at the time, with a further eight still thought be in the UK.
14 had been deported, with another awaiting deportation and one in prison.
Under the heading ‘Victims’, the report states: “Girl 1 – 28 suspects, Girl 2 – 23 suspects, Girl 3 – 9 suspects, Girl 4 – 8 suspects, Girl 5 – 4 suspects, Girl 6 – 1 suspect. All are known to one another. 20 other named girls believed to be victims. A further 18 girls were identified through the course of the current investigation.”
Gender wage gap favors young women in 147 of 150 top cities compared to men in their peer group – salaries for women were 8% higher
But now there’s evidence that the ship may finally be turning around: according to a new analysis of 2,000 communities by a market research company, in 147 out of 150 of the biggest cities in the U.S., the median full-time salaries of young women are 8% higher than those of the guys in their peer group. In two cities, Atlanta and Memphis, those women are making about 20% more. This squares with earlier research from Queens College, New York, that had suggested that this was happening in major metropolises. But the new study suggests that the gap is bigger than previously thought, with young women in New York City, Los Angeles and San Diego making 17%, 12% and 15% more than their male peers, respectively. And it also holds true even in reasonably small areas like the Raleigh-Durham region and Charlotte in North Carolina (both 14% more), and Jacksonville, Fla. (6%). [article mirror]

U.S. Justice Department says Yale illegally discriminates against Asians, whites
The U.S. Justice Department on Thursday accused Yale University of illegally discriminating against Asian American and white applicants in its undergraduate admissions process in violation of U.S. civil rights law.
The findings are the result of a two-year investigation in response to a complaint by Asian-American groups concerning Yale’s conduct, the department said in a statement.
The department said it was prepared to file a lawsuit against Yale if the school, in New Haven, Connecticut, did not take “remedial measures.”
A Yale spokeswoman said the university “categorically denies” the allegations but has cooperated fully with the investigation.
The Justice Department made its findings before allowing Yale to provide requested documents, Yale said.
The elite school “uses race at multiple steps of its admissions process resulting in a multiplied effect of race on an applicant’s likelihood of admission,” the Justice Department said.
A federal judge in Boston ruled in favor of Harvard last year, saying the school’s affirmative action program advanced a legitimate interest in having a diverse student body.
An appeal of that ruling is pending. The case could eventually reach the Supreme Court.
Affirmative action programs in higher education were meant to address racial discrimination. The Supreme Court has ruled universities may use affirmative action with the aim of helping minority applicants get into college.
U.S. conservatives have said that in helping Black and Latino applicants, affirmative action can hurt white people and Asian Americans.
In a diplomatic win for Trump, Israel and UAE normalize relations
President Donald Trump on Thursday announced that Israel and the United Arab Emirates will normalize diplomatic relations, hailing the news as a major breakthrough that will “advance peace in the Middle East.” The deal, while preliminary, represents a rare diplomatic win for Trump ahead of the presidential election in November.
It also represents a rare U.S. victory in the Middle East, where the lines of conflict have barely budged since the 1970s. Trump spoke with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed on Thursday, according to a joint statement issued by the three leaders. “All three countries face many common challenges and will mutually benefit from today’s historic agreement,” the statement read.
“By uniting two of America’s closest and most capable partners in the region, something which said could not be done, this deal is a significant step towards building a more peaceful, secure, and prosperous Middle East,” Trump said while announcing the news at the Oval Office. “Now that the ice has been broken, I expect more Arab and Muslim countries will follow the United Arab Emirates’ lead.”

USA Today race baiting comparing black women’s lower salaries to higher salaries of white non hispanic men – without controlling for actual jobs, time employed, positions held, overtime done, experience etc
Black women in the United States who work full time, year-round are typically paid just 62 cents for every dollar paid to white, non-Hispanic men — and that number has not budged in the last 25 years.
For women overall, the wage gap stands at 82 cents for every dollar paid to men.
This wage gap costs Black women $23,653 a year, according to a new analysis by the National Women’s Law Center. Over a 40-year-career, the wage gap translates to a staggering $946,120.

School kids pose little risk of spreading covid-19 coronavirus
One of the largest studies in the world on coronavirus in schools, carried out in 100 institutions in the UK, will confirm that “there is very little evidence that the virus is transmitted” there, according to a leading scientist.
Professor Russell Viner, president of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health and a member of the government advisory group Sage, said: “A new study that has been done in UK schools confirms there is very little evidence that the virus is transmitted in schools.
“This is the some of the largest data you will find on schools anywhere. Britain has done very well in terms of thinking of collecting data in schools.”

Children rarely transmit COVID-19, doctors write in new commentary: Schools can reopen in fall, they say, if safety guidelines are observed and community transmission is low
A commentary published in the journal Pediatrics, the official peer-reviewed journal of the American Academy of Pediatrics, concludes that children infrequently transmit Covid-19 to each other or to adults and that many schools, provided they follow appropriate social distancing guidelines and take into account rates of transmission in their community, can and should reopen in the fall.
The authors, Benjamin Lee, M.D. and William V. Raszka, Jr., M.D., are both pediatric infectious disease specialists on the faculty of the University of Vermont’s Larner College of Medicine. Dr. Raszka is an associate editor of Pediatrics.
The authors of the commentary, titled “COVID-19 Transmission and Children: The Child Is Not to Blame,” base their conclusions on a new study published in the current issue of Pediatrics, “COVID-19 in Children and the Dynamics of Infection in Families,” and four other recent studies that examine Covid-19 transmission by and among children.
In the new Pediatrics study, Klara M. Posfay-Barbe, M.D., a faculty member at University of Geneva’s medical school, and her colleagues studied the households of 39 Swiss children infected with Covid-19. Contact tracing revealed that in only three (8%) was a child the suspected index case, with symptom onset preceding illness in adult household contacts.
In a recent study in China, contact tracing demonstrated that, of the 68 children with Covid-19 admitted to Qingdao Women’s and Children’s Hospital from January 20 to February 27, 2020, 96% were household contacts of previously infected adults. In another study of Chinese children, nine of 10 children admitted to several provincial hospitals outside Wuhan contracted Covid-19 from an adult, with only one possible child-to-child transmission, based on the timing of disease onset.
In a French study, a boy with Covid-19 exposed over 80 classmates at three schools to the disease. None contracted it. Transmission of other respiratory diseases, including influenza transmission, was common at the schools.
In a study in New South Wales, nine infected students and nine staff across 15 schools exposed a total of 735 students and 128 staff to Covid-19. Only two secondary infections resulted, one transmitted by an adult to a child.
“The data are striking,” said Dr. Raszka. “The key takeaway is that children are not driving the pandemic. After six months, we have a wealth of accumulating data showing that children are less likely to become infected and seem less infectious; it is congregating adults who aren’t following safety protocols who are responsible for driving the upward curve.”

For every three COVID-19 deaths, lockdown may have caused another two
The estimates, made by the Office for National Statistics (ONS) and analysts from several government departments, suggest there were 38,500 excess deaths in England connected to COVID-19 between March and 1 May.
However, the report concludes 41% of those deaths were the result of missed medical care rather than the virus itself.
Of the 16,000 deaths, the paper estimates 6,000 were as a result of a “significant reduction in A&E attendances and emergency admissions”.
It states: “Some of this is unmet need, possibly due to patients’ reluctance to seek medical attention or other changes to protocols.”
The report says the other 10,000 excess deaths likely occurred in care home settings due to patients having been discharged from hospitals, or not wanting to be transferred to hospital.

Forbes: You Must Not ‘Do Your Own Research’ When It Comes To Science – just believe government and pharmaceutical company mandated propaganda
Research is for the experts. Listen to them instead. Only believe government and pharmaceutical company mandated propaganda
“Research both sides and make up your own mind.” It’s simple, straightforward, common sense advice. And when it comes to issues like vaccinations, climate change, and the novel coronavirus SARS-CoV-2, it can be dangerous, destructive, and even deadly. The techniques that most of us use to navigate most of our decisions in life — gathering information, evaluating it based on what we know, and choosing a course of action — can lead to spectacular failures when it comes to a scientific matter.

Abolish the Police? Those Who Survived the Chaos in Seattle CHAZ/CHOP autonomous zone Aren’t So Sure
What is it like when a city abandons a neighborhood and the police vanish? Business owners describe a harrowing experience of calling for help and being left all alone.
Young white men wielding guns would harangue customers as well as Mr. Khan, a gay man of Middle Eastern descent who moved here from Texas so he could more comfortably be out. To get into his coffee shop, he sometimes had to seek the permission of self-appointed armed guards to cross a border they had erected.
“They barricaded us all in here,” Mr. Khan said. “And they were sitting in lawn chairs with guns.”
Now a group of local businesses owners — including a locksmith, the owner of a tattoo parlor, a mechanic, the owners of a Mexican restaurant and Mr. Khan — is suing the city. The lawsuit claims that “Seattle’s unprecedented decision to abandon and close off an entire city neighborhood, leaving it unchecked by the police, unserved by fire and emergency health services, and inaccessible to the public” resulted in enormous property damage and lost revenue.
“We asked the small businesses what they needed to cover the damage that insurance wasn’t paying, and the gap was around $200 million,” said Allison Sharkey, the executive director of the Lake Street Council
Many are nervous about speaking out lest they lend ammunition to a conservative critique of the Black Lives Matter movement. In Portland, Elizabeth Snow McDougall, the owner of Stevens-Ness legal printers, emphasized her support for the cause before describing the damage done to her business.
Sweden never issued stay-at-home orders, kept schools open, didn’t close businesses and the general public does not wear masks… …and the entire country is down to LESS THAN 1 DEATH per day from COVID-19.
Sweden comparing deaths from all causes – COVID-19 isn’t even a blip on the radar.
Sweden’s Economy, After Not Having Lockdown, in Much Better Shape Than Rest of Europe
Sweden’s GDP fell 8.6 in Q2 2020, the country’s worst quarterly decline in modern history. The fall came amid the novel coronavirus panic, which Sweden did not implement full lockdown measures over.
However, the Scandanavian nation markedly outperformed the rest of Europe. Its GDP drop in the second quarter was lower than the 12.1 average experienced in the Eurozone, as well as the 11.9 average across the whole of the EU.
Sweden outperformed several European countries, including Spain (18.5 percent fall), France (13.6 percent), Italy (12.4 percent) and Germany (10.1 percent).
However, Sweden is not currently in a recession. A country is deemed to be in a recession when its economy declines for two consecutive quarters, and Sweden had a GDP growth of 0.1 in Q120.
While fears of a second wave of the outbreak loom over Europe, including in Spain, France, Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium, new infections in Sweden have been mostly declining since around late June.
The country reported a 35 percent dip in new cases per 100,000 people in the past 14 days, compared to that reported in the 14 days prior, according to the latest report Thursday from the World Health Organization (WHO).

Circuit Court Judge Nolan Dawkins releases rapist Ibrahim E. Bouaichi from jail because of coronavirus pandemic, rapist then kills the woman who accused him
Police in Virginia say that a rape suspect released from jail amid the coronavirus pandemic went on to kill the woman who had accused him.
When the pandemic hit, Bouaichi’s lawyers argued that he should be freed awaiting trial because the virus endangered both inmates and their attorneys. He was released on $25,000 bond over the objections of a prosecutor.
Circuit Court Judge Nolan Dawkins released Bouaichi on the condition that he only leave his Maryland home to meet with his lawyers or pretrial services officials.
Alexandria police say that Bouaichi, 33, fatally shot the woman in late July.

Coronavirus vaccine concerns – Components of mRNA Technology “Could Lead to Significant Adverse Events in One or More of Our Clinical Trials,” says Moderna
In comments not generally seen by the public, Moderna stated (p. 33):
[T]here can be no assurance that our lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) will not have undesired effects. Our LNPs could contribute, in whole or in part, to one or more of the following: immune reactions, infusion reactions, complement reactions, opsonation reactions, antibody reactions . . . or reactions to the PEG from some lipids or PEG otherwise associated with the LNP. Certain aspects of our investigational medicines may induce immune reactions from either the mRNA or the lipid as well as adverse reactions within liver pathways or degradation of the mRNA or the LNP, any of which could lead to significant adverse events in one or more of our clinical trials. 100 Children Shot in Democrat-Controlled Philadelphia in 2020
Philadelphia Police First Deputy Commissioner Melvin Singleton commented on having so many children shot this year, bemoaning “this culture of violence where we have adults are willing to shoot indiscriminately into crowds of people without care or concern for women or children.”
The Philadelphia Inquirer reported on the shootings as well, noting 98 “juveniles” had been shot in the city by August 2, 2020, compared to 59 shot during the same time period in 2019.

Nearly half (46%) of 18-29 year old white liberals have a mental health condition compared to 21% of white conservatives
This is the Pew Research Panel, Wave 64, which interviewed a representative sample of 11,537 American adults between March 19th and March 24th. In analysing the dataset, what really caught Goldberg’s attention was differences in whether interviewees had ever been diagnosed with a mental health condition among the white sample.
According to Pew Research Center data, 56% of Liberal females aged 18 to 29 have been diagnosed with a mental health condition, compared to 33.6% of Liberal males in this age band. Goldberg commented that this is the biggest sex gap by far in this particular dataset, meaning that young, Liberal females are, for some reason, particularly strongly prone to mental illness.
Even among Liberal females aged 30 to 49, over 39% have suffered from a mental illness. The most mentally stable of all are “Conservative” males over the age of 65, 4.5% of whom have ever been told by a doctor that they have a mental health condition
Dr. Emily Ekins, right, of the Cato Institute, presented evidence that poor mental ill health is correlated with perceiving the world as beyond one’s control.
She demonstrated that this is how American Liberals see the world—as controlled by Conservative forces—whereas Conservatives feel that they have agency, and can impact the world, and their place in it, if they work hard enough. In other words, Liberals are fatalistic and this makes them depressed. [What Americans Think Cause Wealth and Poverty, by Emily Ekins, September 27, 2019]

Women conform more than men
Among older (19 years and older) subjects, females conformed more with surveillance (other people watching) than without it, whereas surveillance did not affect males’ conformity. Among younger (under 19 years) subjects, surveillance had no effects. Analysis of sex differences revealed that older females were significantly more conforming than older males when under surveillance as well as when subjects formed impressions of one another’s likability. Among younger subjects, there were no sex differences

Denmark’s immigration minister has admitted that his country’s integration policy is a “fiasco,” noting that just 17% of Syrian women and 50% of Syrian men are in work 5 years after moving to the country.
Denmark’s immigration minister has admitted that his country’s integration policy is a “fiasco,” noting that just 17 per cent of Syrian women and 50 per can’t of Syrian men are in work 5 years after moving to the country.
“Unfortunately, we cannot afford to be surprised. When we pursue the same integration policy, then we also get the same results,” said Tesfaye, noting that immigrants from countries such as Thailand, the Philippines, and China do far better than Middle Eastern migrants.
“It is no longer a matter of ramping the transfers up and down. Or amending some points in immigration policy. It is about changing the requirements for newcomers who will begin their lives in Denmark,” said Tesfaye.
